4. METHODS Questionnaires were mailed to Newburgh, Middletown, and surrounding areas, from a generated list from the phone book. Internet research was conducted Fine Tune Health Club. 4
5. FINDINGS- CURRENT HEALTH CLUBS IN AREA There are currently two major health clubs in Middletown and one in Newburgh. Average membership in the Middletown club averages approximately 2,500 each. Average membership in the Newburgh club averages 2,100. Fine Tune Health Club. 5
6. FINDINGS- CUSTOMER SATISFACTION Research shows that people in the Middletown area are only moderately satisfied with their health club. People in the Newburgh area are very satisfied with their health club. Fine Tune Health Club. 6
7. FINDINGS- TRAVEL Most people opted to travel less than ten miles, either from home or work, to attend a health club. However, people in the Newburgh area and surrounding area are willing to travel as they are satisfied with their health club. Fine Tune Health Club. 7

9. FINDINGS- ECONOMIC FACTORS Wages are a key economic factor for attendance in a health club. Middletown and surrounding areas have a higher annual household salary than Newburgh. Middletown- $56,691 in 2009 Newburgh- $37,191 in 2009 Fine Tune Health Club. 9
10. FINDINGS-POPULATION Population is an important factor. An area with a higher population may bring in more members. Middletown population- 54,834 in 2009 Newburgh population- 28,173 in 2009 Fine Tune Health Club. 10
