USE 1 : REPEATED ACTIONS (PRESENT)
[VERB] + s/es in third person
The action can be a habit, a hobby, a daily event, a
scheduled event or something that often happens
interrogative and negative auxiliary (do)
I, you, we, they: Work, drink, study, play, speak, wash
He, she it : works, drinks, studies, plaies, speaks,
washes.
Negative:
I, you, we, they: do not, don´t
He, she it: doest not, doesn´t
I drink juice
She does not drink juice
Do you drink juice?
Express that something is happening right now.
To say that something is happening for a limited time.
Termination ing
watch / watching
speak / speaking
pay / paying
eat / eating
do / doing
Verbs where the final consonant is doubled

 We use the time " Past simple " to talk about
actions that occurred at a specific time in the
past.
 Termination “ed”
 For negative and interrogative sentences we
use the auxiliary "did" .
 AFFIRMATIVE:
I, he, she, it, we, you, they: ED
NEGATIVE:
I, he, she, it, we, you, they: DID NOT
INTERROGATIVE: DID
 He closed the window
 He did not close the window.
 Did he arrive on time?
 When did they arrive?
 The tense " past continuous " is used to talk about an
activity in progress at some specified time in the past
 Pronoun / Name + was / were + "-ing" verb + complement
 Affirmative/ Negative:
 I, he, she, it: was, was not
 We, you, they: Were, were not
 My boyfriend was watching the TV show
 We were not playing soccer
 Was Peter listening to music? Answer Yes / No)
 Where was Angela living before? specific response
 have” / ”has” + Past Participle of the verb
 It is used in the following three ways:
 To speak about a past event which happened
over a period of time and until now ended
 EXAMPLE: I have watched three seasons of
this TV show.
 To talk about an event from the past that has
an effect in the present.
EXAMPLE: I have paid the rent
To talk about a situation that began in a
specific time in the past and continues until
now.
EXAMPLE: I have studied english for five years.
 AFFIRMATIVE/NEGATIVE
I, you, we, they: have, have not
He, she it: has, has not.
- Has she ever ridden a motorcycle? SI/NO
- Where have you been this morning?
 We use the Present Perfect Continuous to show that
something started in the past and has continued up until
now.
 You can also use the Present Perfect Continuous WITHOUT
a duration such as "for two weeks
 [has/have + been + present participle
 You have been waiting here for two hours.
 Have you been waiting here for two hours?
 You have not been waiting here for two hours

The Past Perfect Continuous is used to talk about actions or situations that were in

 The auxiliary Shall only used for the first person singular and plural .
While the assistant will be used in all cases
SUJETO + will/shall + VERBO
• The denial of the future is done simply by adding the adverb will not
between the auxiliary and the verb
SUJETO + will + not + VERBO
The interrogation It is formed by inverting the verb and the subject
will + SUJETO + VERBO?

undertaken in the future and have a certain
duration
 Construction of continuous future is

 The Future is used in English to express an event that will
be completed in the future

 Denial is formed by adding the adverb will not between the
auxiliary and the verb
 SUJETO + will/shall not have + PARTICIPIO DEL VERBO
 The question is constructed by reversing the auxiliary verb
and the subject
 will/shall + SUJETO + have + PARTICIPIO DEL VERBO?

than 3 years

 Structure future perfect continuos
