• Twitter as a focal point for this: enhancing discoverability by
journalists and policy makers
• Rotating this using scheduling software: how to add and
remove from the archive
• Using Twitter to amplify the effectiveness of individual staff
members
• Blogging as a focal point – more difficult to build an audience
if not updated regularly but doesn’t matter if existing twitter
audience
• News & updates & reproducing posts elsewhere by staff
members

What should the department promote on a regular basis? • Constructing a (representative!) archive of books, papers, multimedia, media coverage etc. • Twitter as a focal point for this: enhancing discoverability by journalists and policy makers • Rotating this using scheduling software: how to add and remove from the archive • Using Twitter to amplify the effectiveness of individual staff members • Blogging as a focal point – more difficult to build an audience if not updated regularly but doesn’t matter if existing twitter audience • News & updates & reproducing posts elsewhere by staff members
