Racial injustice and segregation were still prevalent problems in the 1930s, even after the abolition of slavery. People of color were persecuted and lynched without trial due to their race. Racism and prejudice were widespread and influenced children, though today people are standing against racism and recognizing that we are all equal regardless of race or skin color.
