3. Let’s make it personal:
CONFIGURE WORDPRESS
Click on “Settings” on
the left menu
Change the “Site Title”
to something more
appropriate.
Change the “Tagline”
Verify the admin email
address
Put a check in
“Membership”
Save Changes

4. Next click on
CONFIGURE WORDPRESS
“Reading” in the
Settings Section.
This is where you
create a site, a
blog, or a
combination.
By default the
home page is the
blog page.
To change it to a
site just select:
“A static Page”
and pick one from
the list.
Note: If you don’t
have a home page
simply create one
then come back
here.
Save Changes

5. Click on the
CONFIGURE WORDPRESS
“Permalink”
section in Settings
Change the
default database
URL to a more
friendly one.
Check the
“Custom
Structure” and
type:
%postname%
Don’t forget the %
signs.
Because of setup
for this workshop
the permalinks
will not work
today.
Save Changes

6. CONFIGURE WORDPRESS

7. Configure each
CONFIGURE WORDPRESS
plugin as
necessary.
Click on the
“TinyMCE
Advanced” in the
Settings Section.
Pick an item from
the bottom icons
and drop them
into the top empty
line.
Save Changes

8. JUST COMPLETED
 Configuring WP
 Blog name and tagline
 Site or Blog
 Permalinks
 Configure a plugin

 Create a contact page
 Add content to your about page
 Add content to your home page
