K to 12 Curriculum
Literally means Kindergarten to 12
1. Mandatory Kindergarten
 RA 10105 – No one will goes to Grade 1 without passing
through Kindergarten
 Signed by PNOY last 2012

2. Mother Tongue-Based Multilingual Education (MTB-MLE)
 Students learn more than two language (MT, Filipino,
English), L1, L2 and L3 may vary.
 MT is taught in K-3 and all subject from K-3 must be
taught in mother tongue – Curriculum Framework

 demand for MTB-MLE teachers
 MTB –MLE teachers have an edge with this matter.

3. Music, Arts, Physical Education and Health (MAPEH)
 These Subject will be offered starting Gr. 1
 Each is given separate time allotment across grades.

 A combination of Discipline –Based and Spiral

5. Technology And Livelihood Education Courses
TLE Courses in Gr 7 and 8 are exploratory.
Important features
What does exploratory courses mean?
They are what TESDA calls common competencies
1. Use of maintenance tools
2. Interpreting drawing
3. Mensuration and calculation
4. Occupational safety and health
These competencies are usually found in every
TESDA course. Merely introductory hence,
basic skill
What does exploratory courses mean?
• By the end of gr. 8, students must have 8
exploratory courses introduced to obtain
Certificate of competency.
• Beginning of Gr. 9, students must choose his
focus area to ensure employment and
continue to gr. 10.
• This enables TESDA NC I.
• Gr. 11 and 12 enables TESDA NC II (work
ready, more skilled hence ready for a job.)
• Tech Voc not inclined? GOOD THING! YOU

  • 9. What does exploratory courses mean? They are what TESDA calls common competencies 1. Use of maintenance tools 2. Interpreting drawing 3. Mensuration and calculation 4. Occupational safety and health These competencies are usually found in every TESDA course. Merely introductory hence, basic skill

What does exploratory courses mean? • By the end of gr. 8, students must have 8 exploratory courses introduced to obtain Certificate of competency. • Beginning of Gr. 9, students must choose his focus area to ensure employment and continue to gr. 10. • This enables TESDA NC I. • Gr. 11 and 12 enables TESDA NC II (work ready, more skilled hence ready for a job.) • Tech Voc not inclined?
