2. Materials
You will need:
1 strip of felt
1 LED
Condutive thread
Regular thread
1 CR2032 battery
1 battery holder
1 LED
Decorations
Sewing needle and scissors
3. LED’s
Light Emitting Diodes
Emit light when electricity
runs through them
Only work if the electricity
is going in the right
direction
If you connect the long
wire to the positive side of
the battery and the short
wire to the negative side, it
works
Connect it the wrong way,
though, and nothing
happens
5. Step 2 – add snaps
Using conductive thread,
sew one half of the snap
near the end of the strip
(sew lots of conductive
thread through the loops of
the snap to make a good
connection when the snap
closes)
On the back side of the strip
sew the other half of the
snap so that when the strip
is closed in a circle, the two
halves snap together
6. Step 3 – add light
Cut a slit in the strip for the
LED lighs
Poke the LED light bulb
through the hole so the
metal is on the back and the
bulb is on the front of the
bracelet
7. Sew lights & battery holder
On the back of the bracelet, sew the positive (square) side of the LED to one of the snaps
Sew the positive side of the battery holder (the one with the three plastic prongs) to the other snap
Sew the negative (round) side of the LED to the negative side of the battery holder
Slip the battery into the battery holder negative (rough) side down
8. Decorate
Add decorations to the
front of the bracelet –
fabric glue or felt glue is
great for this
Snap the bracelet on your
wrist and watch it light up
