Pecha Kucha

2. ● Draws name from the Japanese term for the sound of the conversation (‘ chit chat ’). ● Devised in 2003 in Tokyo as an event for young designers to meet, network and show their work in public.
3. Example 1: Pecha Kucha Nights are held in more than 230 cities worldwide. They are informal and fun gatherings where creative people meet, present and share ideas.
4. Example 2: Public spaces where people share their work in a relaxed way.
5. ● Rests on a presentation format based on a single idea: 20 images x 20 seconds - Makes presentation concise and fluent . - Summarising skills - On any topic. - Short or long sentences : good speaking practise for all levels - Integrating visual elements.
6. ● Some advice: - Be creative, think outside the box! - The key: present something you love! - Personal, funny…. A box of chocolates! - Prepare your 20 secs. beforehand: Short sentences: Subject + Verb + Complements

8. ● Level: Any year in which the Past Simple is taught. ● Context: - Past Simple has already been presented and practised in class. - Production stage to conclude the unit. - Students’ project after a trip. ● Aim: - To practise the past simple. - To be able to talk about personal experiences in the past. ● Materials: 20 pictures + projector + computer + any realia needed ● Language: short sentences in the Past Simple ● Timing: 6 minutes, 40 seconds per group. ● Extension activities: - Note taking - Write an essay about one of the topics - Lower levels: vocabulary spiders - Peer error correction
