This document provides a summary of Hemingway's use of dialogue in his short story "Hills Like White Elephants". It outlines how Hemingway uses new paragraphs to indicate new speakers, quotation marks around dialogue, and punctuation both inside and outside of quotation marks depending on whether the dialogue is a question or statement. by a period, a comma is used to separate
the dialogue and the dialogue tag.

question mark is used inside the quotation
marks.

a new sentence.

commas.
