2. Forgiveness is first of all a gift to yourself. You cannot
truly love if you have resentment in your heart. Here are
the SEVEN Reasons why we should forgive:
3. First Reason: You are Bigger than Those Who hurt You.
You are giant in God eyes, Yes you are. And so you are too big to be bothered by small things. Sometimes,
the reason why we are affected from people who hurt us. We are offended because we tend to forget the
giant that is within us. Only Giant (Giant Love) can be gentle. People who are small easily hurt, seek
revenge, and retaliated .
4. Second Reason: People who hurt you, are hurting too.
Hurt people, hurt people. They are crying out desperately for love and their way is to hurt others. But deep
down, they are child within them hungry for love which only God can fill that hunger.
5. Third Reason: You are hurt before you are hurt.
The buried resentment we have experience shows even before a person offended us. Maybe, as a child we
have experience anger. Unless resolved it will come out.
6. Fourth Reason: Anger is hazardous to your future.
Anger causes mistakes. Sometimes we tend to hurt people we love out of anger. There’s only 1 letter
difference between ANGER and DANGER which means that it is very dangerous to be angry.
“Resentment is like drinking poison and
then hoping it will kill your enemies.”
- Nelson Mandela
7. Fifth Reason: Your Father is a PEACEmaker so are YOU.
Peacemaker are those people who avoids arguments. Troublemaker are those who cause it. Which will you
choose?
Happy are those who are peacemaker because they will be called CHILDREN of God.
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be
called sons of God.” - Matthew 5:9
8. Sixth Reason: You only have one HEART.
You only have one heart. And can’t be divided into two ( to love or to hate). If your angry to the other half
and be loving to the other half. That can’t be happen, one will be overpower with the other. Will you be
loving person? or will hatred fill your heart?
9. Seventh Reason: Everything bounces back to you.
The Law of the Reciprocity states that what you do bounces back to you, multiplied. And I believe that how
God works. So if someone hurt you, don’t retaliate. The vengeance is mine declares the Lord. Love your
enemies, Pray for them. Bless them.
10. “The willingness to forgive
is a sign of spiritual and
emotional maturity. It is
one of the great virtues to
which we all should
aspire. Imagine a world
filled with individuals
willing both to apologize
and to accept an apology.
Is there any problem that
could not be solved
among people who
possessed the humility
and largeness of spirit and
soul to do either -- or
both -- when needed?”―
