Achievements
Returned to study as a mature student - gained a 2.1 IT degree at Kingston University, London.
Re-designed training course for GridServer, a Virtualisation platform. The original course, delivered
via 270 slides, was proving non-practical. I converted it to a workshop based approach, which was
adopted by the entire company, generating over $3.5 million in worldwide revenue in 2007/2008.
With a self training and a motivated attitude, I convinced IBM Sweden to adopt an Object Oriented
strategy for an in-house financial project. Subsequently awarded the role as Project Manager - the
team and I exceeded the initial requirements set by IBM for this green field project. Management
feedback was that the new system was very user friendly, easily maintainable and incredibly flexible.
Assigned to a major oil company, trained their entire payroll team to adopt and cope with an entirely
new system. Consequently awarded a Team Leader role to manage new projects.
Helped Credit Suisse to reduced major open issues from 58 to 7 within my first six months as a
Technical Account Manager. I achieved this by working extremely hard and effectively facilitating
strong communications between the client organisations and the UK based and offshore support
and engineering teams, senior directors and product managers.
Employment
Self Employed Systems Support Analyst Sept 13 - Present
My work involves helping small local businesses in a support role. This includes taking direct customer
calls and answering emails primarily regarding Windows and database support issues but is not limited
to purely technical issues.
JCom UK Jun 13 – Sept 13
Technical Solutions Architect (Contractor)
As a primary contact, my role was to elicit business and technical requirements from clients and then to
propose and architect appropriate end-to-end IT solutions. These typically involved:
- VMWare based solutions
- Microsoft Service Infrastructures
- Fibre channel and iSCSI
- Disaster recover solutions
2. In my role, I engaged with clients in the initial stages of the sales cycle in order to understand their
requirements from a business as well as a technical perspective.
Interactive Ideas LTD (Contractor) PostgreSQL Gold Partner Apr 11 – May 13
Technical Account Manager/Pre-Sales
I was the first point of contact for major UK customers using PostgreSQL Enterprise Server. My role as a
TAM involved:
Organising and chairing meetings between internal team members and customers. Many of these
were conducted through WebEx or via teleconference.
Attending weekly internal meetings to discuss product changes and to understand how these would
impact upon our customers. The meetings were also designed to discuss software defects and were,
for me, to understand and decide how these should be communicated to clients.
Informing clients about what efforts internal teams were undertaking to remedy defects. This work was
essentially driven via SLA's.
Planning and managing upgrades for our customers, many of whom had the software embedded in
highly volatile production systems.
Designing and delivering product training to new clients and partners. My training also helped to
introduce new employees to our products and services.
Preparing reports to internal engineering and support teams.
The key requirements of my role were to be assertive, calm and above all, diplomatic. Members of
Professional Services were required to be solid team workers in order to deliver the best results to
customers. Essentially, I built bridges in communications between the internal organisation and our clients.
This required essential listening and questioning skills. A number of our larger customers such as The
Credit Card Protection Plan Limited, were paying over 100k dollars per annum for my services.
Self Employed Systems Support Analyst Jul 10 - Mar 11
My work involved helping small local businesses in a support role. This included taking direct customer calls
and answering emails primarily regarding Windows and database support issues but was not limited to
purely technical issues.

Upon leaving Datasynapse, I decided to take a 6 month sabbatical. Following this, I worked on the
acquisition and development of a now rented property. The property I purchased was in a derelict state and
as a result, took over a year and a half to fully refurbish. I project managed this from start to finish.
