Motivator
 Leading a modern organization in an increasingly globalized world with all its 
complexities and uncertainties can be an immensely challenging task for a 
leader. Leaders like Daniel Assouline are successful because they combine 
charisma with intelligence, vision, and hard work. 
 Leaders, in order to be successful, must truly and fully understand the 
current business environment and the customer’s particular quality demands. 
 This can only be achieved if the leader incorporates a culture where 
employees are curious, open, cooperative, and always breaking down 
barriers.

possess to make his/ her organization immensely profitable are as following:
Motivational Skills 
 It is no-brainer that motivated employees are productive employees. A 
leader can increase the productivity level of his organizations manifold, if he 
knows the art and science of motivating people. 
 Motivating people needs clear thinking and hard work. A leader should have a 
clear understanding of the situation in order to be able to motivate people. 
Motivating people also requires an insight into human nature. 
 Moreover, the leader needs to set clear goals and expectations. These goals 
and expectations provide the much needed direction to people. 
 Having clear direction enables them to feel that their contributions are 
valuable and meaningful. This clarity complemented by rewards for the 
desirable behavior motivates people to achieve organizational goals.
General Methods of Motivation 
 Motivating people is not as easy as it sounds. A leader must have knowledge 
and experience of motivating his workforce according the given needs, 
situations, and circumstances. 
 Ensuring optimum level of commitment and enthusiasm when the going is not 
easy is also quite a challenging task for the leader. Therefore, it is important 
to look at how a leader can motivate his employees during bad time as well 
as good. 
Truth and Honesty are Important Virtues 
 A leader must be aware of the things going around him. Understanding the 
real situation is important. There can often be a significant gap between 
hope and reality. It is, therefore, important for the leader to plug this gap 
before setting eyes on higher aspirations.
 It is usually the process of realizing a goal that necessarily follows honest 
appraisal and setting of high aspirations. 
 The biggest motivational challenge that leaders generally face is that of 
reinvention. Reinventing an organization necessarily involves reinventing its 
people as well. 
 The leader has to appraise various dimensions, such as customers, the 
competitive situation, and performance of the company. This comparison 
helps them in how true they are in their beliefs and appraisals. 
 Once this is done, the leader sets goals for the companies that are 
quantifiable and achievable. Whenever employees reach a significant 
milestone in achieving their goals, it is the duty of the leader to 
acknowledge and reward their contribution.
Desire to be great 
 People have a great desire to contribute something lasting and get motivated 
naturally when they feel that they are working on something important, 
rare, and marvelous. 
 Daniel’s exceptional communication skills allow him to communicate the 
vision of the company most effectively and efficiently. He believes in two-way 
communication and encourages his employees to share their ideas and 
suggestions more openly and freely.
Employee Empowerment 
 Almost, all the good leaders are unanimous in their opinion that unless employees 
identified themselves with the organization and its goals, no company could be 
successful. 
 Respect for identity is very important because the basic backbone of the 
company is the motivation of its people. 
 If your people are not motivated, whatever your product is, you are going to 
decline. People cannot be motivated if they lose a sense of identity. 
 Daniel Assouilne, the former chairman of Montreal, Canada based UpClick, is a 
people’s leader who always gets the kind of engagement he needs from his 
employees. 
 The desire to be a part of the big picture and help organizations in attainment of 
its goals and objectives is a big driving force for the employees. 
 It is, therefore, the duty and responsibility of the leader to tap into that emotion 
and get the best out of their employees.
Good Communication is Imperative 
 Effectiveness of employees in an organization is directly proportional upon their 
awareness of what they are doing, how their work will fit into the grand vision of 
the organization, and what the future holds for their organization and them. 
 Daniel Assouline is a leader with exceptional communication skills. He spends 
time with senior managers, employees from all levels, and stakeholder explaining 
what the company is doing and how it is going to achieve its objectives. 
 Besides motivating, Daniel also believes in empowering his employees to take 
decisions on their own. This leads to a sense of belonging in the employees. 
 Daniel also believes in transparency. He is always open about the problems of his 
organization and steps that he is taking to overcome it. 
 Daniel Assouline believes that by giving a true picture about the state of affairs, 
it would be easier for him to convince them about the steps that would follow to 
rectify the situation.
