eCommerce is a massive market in Australia, currently valued at 27 billion dollars and continually growing.Now a 2009 study by VISA Asia found that 77% of Australian’s are shopping online, but according to a 2011 study by MYOB, only a mere 11% of businesses are actually selling products and services through their own website, and 15% are using a service such as eBay.Clearly there is something wrong here.Also, a study by the university of ballarat found that there is a lack of confidence within Australian business owners in regards to connecting their business to the internet and tapping into the eCommerce market.
To fix the current situation, this project will be fundamentally aiming to, of course, justify the construction of the NBN. With businesses and consumers all over Australia having access to high-speed, stable internet, this project will aim to provide the businesses with an online presence.As the NBN will provide massive amounts of bandwidth, this project will be utilising it to increase communication between businesses and consumers.And the project’s final outcome is to increase confidence in eCommerce.
So, to achieve the outcomes, this project will produce a website, providing 2 key services.Number 1 is Business owners can quickly and easily make a website using an intuitive website creation tool.Number 2 is Consumers can search for products or services, and the website will connect them with the relevant businesses.To increase communication we will provide Video calling and Voice over IP on every businesses website.And finally, the website will provide a rating and review system for consumers, to help increase buyer confidence in eCommerce.
So how will we ensure success in attained?Firstly, after 6 months of a business being connected, every product or service they offer will be rated.Secondly, businesses should see an increase in revenue of rated products or services of at least 7%.Thirdly, we expect at least 800 businesses connected to our service after 28 months. This will be explained later in cost.And finally, we expect to see 80% of businesses using Video calling or VOIP overtaking their primary form of communication, such as a landline phone.
So, these are the key risks of this project that we are mitigating.Firstly, our service may appear to offer no competitive advantage. To mitigate this, our promotion strategy will focus on the fact we offering a unique service and that ratings statistically improve sales for businesses.Secondly, to prevent fraudulent activity, businesses must possess an active ABN number, and must post any items via registered post.And finally, we recognised that businesses will be resistant to joining this service, so we will combat this again by possessing a team of on-site representatives, who will help market the product and assist businesses if they are having any issues.

Concept is what we have been doing, the project documentation.Each phase encompasses numerous assessments to ensure quality, stakeholder, cost and specifications are followed precisely.Also, implementation includes training and implementing of promotion. However, promotion is also an ongoing part of the project and is encompassed by support as well.
