- And our workshops reach off campus as well. Through the VIVO and dLOC grants our librarians have traveled the US and world training partners at other universities! dLOC trainers travelled to Jamacia, the Bahamas, the Dutch Caribbean, etc
- This desire to reach off campus leads us to our first major trend in library instruction : reaching distance students
- The UF Digital Collections offer an array of completely electronic material including oral histories, maps, images from our University Archives, scanned herbarium specimens, and rare books from the University of Florida Special Collections. It is a great place to explore materials that are unique to the UF Library collections.The UF Libraries also have their own You Tube Channel. It includes videos from our special collections archives as well as instructional videos for undergrads. These instructional videos include a tutorial on how to do undergraduate research called “Librarians to the Rescue” and a “UF Libraries Orientation” which includes tours of our on campus libraries detailing what they have to offer. These materials are freely accessible on the web and do not require off campus log on.
- The UF libraries have direct links from within the e-learning platform
- One of the most successful outreach efforts is taking place in the Education library. There are direct links to the library through the College of educations Course Management system and Marilyn Ochoa has Embedded directly into e-learning classes. Librarian Mary Edwards is here today to discuss an embedded librarian experience that she co-designed with Marilyn Ochoa
