ccREL is a standard introduced by Creative Commons for publishing structured data on web pages using RDFa annotations. It bridges the gap between the semantic web and the regular web by providing a way to embed metadata about licenses and works directly into web content. The vocabulary can be used to annotate human-visible web pages with information that increases quality and enables features like semantic highlighting and copy and pasting of license and work information.
