Before ADDIE After ADDIE
Made general assumptions about
learners’ knowledge base pertaining to
library services.
Instruction was not focused.
Analysis- (What do learners need to learn? Consider learning
environment, and delivery options).
Needs assessment- met with director to ascertain learner
characteristics about Non-Traditional students.
• Not familiar with the latest educational platforms such as
Blackboard, Moodle, etc.,
• Assistance with citing.
• Google Drive, Dropbox, Prezi.
Design- Learning Objectives: (Content is determined during this
phase).
Identify core components of APA citations; effectively evaluate
websites and analyze information; explain the difference between
primary and secondary sources; explain the peer-reviewed process.
Create authentic learning activities reiterating learning objectives.
Development- (Actual production of content)
Lecture content, handouts, instructional videos.
Implementation- (What happens during class time?)
Students participate in authentic learning activities by creating viable
solutions for real-world nursing problem(s).
Evaluate- Reflection, or Brief assessment-
Assessment question: What did you learn from this session?
What questions do you still have?
