POSITION TITLE: ENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTH & SAFETY MANAGER

Position Purpose/Summary
The purpose of this position is to manage and lead the EH&S function for sgSolutions .This position is responsible
for the development and implementation of EH&S Compliance programs designed to ensure that compliance
related responsibilities are met on a timely basis. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager, sgSolutions;
however, the incumbent will work closely with individuals at all levels of both sgSolutions and Wabash Valley
Power Association.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
35% Develop and continuously improve all methods, processes, training, and all plant specific Programs and
Procedures associated with EH&S compliance. Ensure compliance with all applicable permit conditions,
rules and regulations both environmental, OSHA, NRC required. Ensure timely submittal of all required
EH&S reports.
25% Develop, measure, identify, track, analyze, and report EH&S statistics and trends. Implement corrective
actions, working with personnel within both sgSolutions and Wabash Valley Power Association, to
address any identified issues/concerns. Lead plant level EH&S efforts in order to ensure that effective
programs are implemented to address compliance as well as methods for improvement. Assign
appropriate EH&S personnel to project teams.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities
20% Direct responsibility for the Waste Disposal Program management. This includes obtaining required
permits, prepares reports, maintains records, and prepares budget. Ensures procedures are in place for
sampling, waste characterization, labeling, preparation of wastes for shipment, signing of shipment
manifests and shipment procedures, waste segregation/storage, audits and approves waste disposal sites.
Conducts follow up action to, but not limited to; Area inspections, and internal/external audits.
10% Prepare, facilitate, and arrange appropriate resources to ensure that all EH&S training needs are
addressed and that training requirements are fulfilled and documented in a timely and effective manner.
5% Serve as the primary plant representative, working in conjunction with Wabash Valley Power
Association Compliance Personnel, for EH&S compliance inspections. Responsible for ensuring that all
compliance reports are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
5% Coordinates with plant security guards, visitors, housekeeping and grounds personnel related to
environmental, health & safety programs.
May be required to perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent degree required. Associates degree in environmental sciences preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years progressive experience in an environmental sciences, industrial hygiene, and/or
health/safety capacity required; Prior industrial operations experience preferred.
• A minimum of ten (10) years progressive experience in environmental compliance; preferably in the power
production arena, or in a chemical intensive manufacturing facility, is preferred.
• At least one year in a supervisory role responsible for monitoring the work and development of others.
• Computer skills and clear oral and written communication abilities are essential.
• Hazardous Materials, RCRA, and DOT Training (within 6 mo of hiring)
• 501 OSHA Outreach Trainer Certification is helpful.
Job Complexity
The position has accountability for measuring, tracking, and improving environmental performance in all areas of
plant operations. Work requires a high level of judgment, analytical ability and creativity, such as investigating
complex problems or situations, analyzing information, recommending solutions, and leading corrective actions.

This position has direct supervisory responsibility over the following position(s): EH&S Assistant

Contacts/Relationships
The incumbent spends approximately 99% of his/her time focused on the improvement of overall environmental
performance at the plant level. This includes interacting with all levels of the plant organization, Sg Solutions and
CBI Management and employees, Wabash River Combined Cycle Plant and Duke Management and employees and
all personnel levels of Wabash Valley Power Association. The position will also require interaction with
Governmental Agency representatives from time to time.

Position Description
With this position responsible for Plant environmental compliance, this individual will spend a substantial amount
of time in the plant. Exposure to weather elements is likely. Incumbent is likely to drive a company vehicle in the
course of performing job responsibilities. The incumbent will spend approximately 25% sitting, 35% standing,
and 40% walking in the course of performing job responsibilities and is likely to handle materials weighing more
than 10 pounds without mechanical assistance. Incumbent will use standard office equipment in the course of
performing duties as well as personal protective equipment (PPE). Occasional overtime may be required. Little
travel should be required in this position.
