To Be More Productive.pptx

  1. FEW TIPS TO BE MORE PRODUCTIVE Mona Quenawy M.D Ain Shams university
  2. Productivity isn’t everything, but in the long run it is almost everything. A country’s ability to improve its standard of living over time depends almost entirely on its ability to raise its output per worker. Paul Krugman, The Age of Diminishing Expectations (1994)
  3. PRODUCTIVITY IN SCIENTIFIC TERMINOLOGY • the quality, state, or fact of being able to generate, create, enhance, or bring forth goods and services
  4. MEASUREMENT • Gross domestic product (GDP) is the standard measure of the value added created through the production of goods and services in a country during a certain period. As such, it also measures the income earned from that production,
  5. • One standard measure of productivity is output per worker-hour, or the ratio between the number of hours worked to total output. • You can also measure your productivity per week or month if each unit of production takes more than an hour to create
  6. IS IT BENEFICIAL TO BE INTEGRATED • With growth in productivity, an economy is able to produce—and consume— increasingly more goods and services for the same amount of work. • Productivity is important to individuals (workers and consumers), business leaders, and analysts (such as policymakers and government statisticians).
  7. FAMOUS QUOTES LET S START
  8. “PRODUCTIVITY IS BEING ABLE TO DO THINGS THAT YOU WERE NEVER ABLE TO DO BEFORE.” FRANZ KAFKA , WRITER “IT’S NOT ALWAYS THAT WE NEED TO DO MORE BUT RATHER THAT WE NEED TO FOCUS ON LESS.” NATHAN W. MORRIS, AUTHOR AND FINANCE EXPERT “MY GOAL IS NO LONGER TO GET MORE DONE, BUT RATHER TO HAVE LESS TO DO.” FRANCINE JAY, AUTHOR This Photo by Unknown Author is licensed under CC BY-SA-NC
  9. • . “You can fool everyone else, but you can’t fool your own mind.” David Allen, author and productivity consultant • “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.” Wayne Gretzky, Canadian former professional ice hockey player • . “Simplicity boils down to two steps: Identify the essential. Eliminate the rest.” Leo Babauta, blogger • 9. “Strive not to be a success, but rather to be of value.” Albert Einstein, German theoretical physicist
  10. DON’T BE BUSY • BE PRODUCTIVE
  11. Be kind to yourself and your mistakes • You’ve probably spent years cultivating your work habits–both good and bad, consciously or subconsciously–and those won’t immediately change
  12. 1. Make a reasonable to-do list... …don’t overwhelm yourself. To-do lists often fail because we make them way too complex, or the tasks are unequal. Some tasks will take a long time, others won’t take any time at all. This creates an unbalance in the way we distribute our time. What happens then is that our to-do list then becomes a procrastination tool. Yes, that’s right. Because then we do the easy stuff, and then become really distracted on the hard stuff
  13. 1-PRIORITY ARRANGE YOUR TASKS BASED ON ITS SIGNIFICANCE
  14. 2- CULTIVATE DEEP WORK
  15. 3-AVOID DISTRACTION LIST AND MARK THEM WELL MINIMIZE THEIR EXPOSURE
  16. • 4- Set small goals for the tasks. • With every new project or assignment, the scope may seem too large. But once you start breaking it down and realizing what can be accomplished, you’ll notice how each part builds upon the other.
  17. 5-DIVID TASKS INTO SMALLER PIECES ON SMALL PERIOD
  18. 6-LEARN FROM SUCCESSES AS WELL AS MISTAKES ”
  19. 7-PLAN FOR WHEN THINGS GO WRONG
  20. 8-TAKE BREAKS TO IMPROVE YOUR CAPACITY EVERY 45 MINUTES FOR 5 TO 10 MINUTES
  21. 9-MAKE FEWER DECISIONS. ELIMINATE INEFFICIENT COMMUNICATION .
  22. 10-GET BETTER AT SAYING “NO
  23. 11-FOCUS ON ONE GOAL AT A TIME.
  24. 12-STOP MULTITASKING
  25. 13-FIND A METHOD FOR DELEGATING AND FOLLOWING UP.
  26. 14-GROUP SIMILAR TASKS TOGETHER.
  27. 15- CREATE A PROACTIVE DASHBOARD. THIS IDEA IS FROM NOAH KAGAN, THE FOUNDER OF APPSUMO. ESSENTIALLY, THIS IS A MEASURABLE TASK LIST. IF YOU’RE NOTICING THAT A CERTAIN TASK IS HAVING A BIG EFFECT ON OUR BUSINESS OR IS A NECESSARY TASK THAT YOU NEED TO KEEP DOING, THEN LIST OUT THE NUMBER OF TIMES THAT YOU NEED TO DO THAT TASK EACH WEEK. THE GOAL HERE IS TO RECORD INPUTS, NOT JUST OUTCOMES.
