Sample Letters to Remove InquiriesIf you have reason to believe that a hard inquiry which appeared on your credit was madewithout your authorization, you should send a letter to the creditor telling them to remove it.Like all correspondences directed to creditors, debt collection agencies, and credit bureaus,be sure to send your letter via certified mail with return receipt requested so you have arecord of all documentation in case they refuse to budge and you have to bring the matter tothe State Banking Commission.Here are some samples of letters you can send to your creditors to have them remove thehard inquiries.Sample Letter No. 1:DateYour NameYour Address (Street Number, Street Name)City, State, and Zip CodeYour Phone number(Name of Creditor)(Creditor Office Street Number and Address)(City, State, and Zip Code)RE: Unauthorized Credit InquiryDear Sir/Madam (if you know the name of the person in charge, the better),I have recently obtained a copy of my (write the name of credit bureau—Experian,TransUnion, Equifax) credit report.
