2. Communication technologies:

Is an electronic systems based to create a communication line between
individuals or groups and it used technology to facilitate the process of
communication for people who are not present physically at the same
location. This is a case study Presentation for two types of communication
technologies which are learning management system and social network.

A Social Networking:
Is a group of individuals into specific groups where they can share
information, images, videos, events and so one. Facebook is example of
social network which I will be debate in this presentation.
3. Facebook intended to connect friends, family, people around the
world together in a social networking website. This has been found
by Harvard University student Mark Zuckerberg. It is used in
businesses, organizations and governments around the world.
4. Facebook Functions
Friends: friending is a way used to make an online
friendship by sends a request massage.
News Feed: It is similar to home page and it highlights
information of account such as profile changes,
upcoming events and other.
Messages: Users can send messages to each other to
number of their friends or Facebook accounts.
Group: Users can create a group with privacy setting
and they can use it for discussion, events and share
information with each other.
Photos and Videos: Facebook provides multi-media
feature for user for uploading images and videos which
will be present in the News Feed.
Facebook for mobile: Users can easily access from their
smartphone.
Facebook Page: This page creates by users to customize
presence for an organization, products or for
conversation with Facebook users. The entire can
content of the page posts by administrators.
5. Group:
When you create the group
you will be the administrator
of it.
You can limit
1.Status updates
2.Photos
3.Videos
4.Any other people group
content.
Types of group:
Open: can easily joined by
anyone on Facebook
Closed: Anyone on Facebook
can even see a closed group
but they can see the posts
only the group member.
Secret: group can’t be found
in searches box and can’t be
seen by anyone outside of the
group.
6. Facebook for
mobile:
Smartphones can access to the Facebook which allows users to be in touch
with their accounts. Users can easily “check in” to a location through
Facebook’s mobile. When you use check in, Facebook will use phone’s geolocation features such as GPS and Proximity to local Wi-Fi stations. If the
“push notifications” of your Phone Facebook enabled, you will be notified
that someone has checked you in.
7. Facebook Page:
Tabs:
The Facebook wall’s page has a wall Tab, Info Tab and a Boxes Tab.
1.In the Info Tab:
you can share information about your education campus such as website,
mission, departments, overview, students and teachers. The category of page
user will create will be different fields available. For example, Film pages
have release date, genre and studio fields.
The Boxes tab is where you can add application modules onto wide and
narrow columns. It is easy to drag and drop the application modules in
anywhere of the page.

•Discussion boards: where users can discuss about products,
promotions and more and it has full tab.
•Video: Facebook page has unlimited number of videos that you can
upload them easily. While user upload videos has to know what
Facebook supports. Actually, user can upload any type of videos
that has same from of the list below and user should be sure that
video limit is under of 1 GB.

9. Where and How Facebook use?
Around the world we find that Facebook is using in companies, schools,
colleges, universities, business and all other sectors. In education part,
teachers are using Facebook with their students for example; Harvard
University is using Facebook to share information, events, topics, videos,
images and other with people to present students work and achievements.
Some teachers are using Facebook group feature with their students where
they discuss private topics which are invisible for us.
10. What are problems of Facebook?
The personal information of users can be easily taken from their Facebook
accounts might cause many problem. For example, I mentioned before
about Facebook for mobile where other users can find my location by check
in if this feature is visible for everyone not just user’s friends, user can be
in problems. According to Facebook in higher ED: Problems, Needs
article, “Pages does not enable your community to get involved in
maintaining and promoting itself.” Pages do not enable your
community to get involved in maintaining and promoting itself.”
(Staton, 2011). Because of no way to put together materials, answering
students’ questions, sharing resources and making meaningful
conversations.
