                                             Your Challenge
READ. For this summer’s Splash n’ Share, we are asking that you read at least two grade/age appropriate books,
fiction or nonfiction, and write them on the attached book log. After you finish your reading, please have your
parents sign the book log to verify that you read the listed books.

CREATE. Pick one of the books you read and create an advertisement to share with your classmates. This can
simply be done on a piece of 8.5x11 paper, or you can be creative with how you display your work. Be sure to
include:
3 Your name and grade level (on the front or back).
3 The title and author of the book.
3 An illustration of your favorite part of the book. Be creative! Use clip art, pictures from newspapers or
         magazines, or your own drawings.
3 A brief explanation of why you recommend this book to your classmates. Be sure to include who would be
interested in this book (For example: Anyone who loves thrilling mysteries would love this book!)

SHARE. Bring this log and your advertisement into school by Friday, September 7, 2012 in order to share with your
English/Language Arts class. Your advertisements will also be put on display for all to see and read.

Have fun and make a splash!
