It’s Your Turn!
Our school is pre-k through 4th grade with over 600 students, one computer lab and 39 ipads. We are located in Southwest Fort Worth. If you look at our school on Google Earth our playground looks like a smiley face.
We use different tools to learn and create. We have a computer lab, ipads, a webcam for Skyping, and a Mimio interactive board.
I like GoNoodle because it’s fun and gives you energy. We get points on classdojo for doing the right the thing, doing homework, showing self control and staying on task. Kahoot is a game that we can play to learn and have fun.
We like to do centers because we learn and have fun. We use ipads, computers, work with the teacher, and other hands-on activities.
Math include math task cards where we create work using apps like 30 hands and PicCollage and load it to our blogs. For our teachers, parents, and other classrooms to see and learn from.
We make Pic collages with our ipads. We were learning about possessive nouns with this one. We took pictures and then added sentences. It is more fun doing it this way than just writing on paper.
our favorite apps include: S - Block Story because it’s like Minecraft and you can build lots of things and you can fly. .C - We use magnetic alphabet for word wok and every holiday they add fun pictures. K - I Iike Geoboard because you can make fun pictures and the rubberbands don’t break. A - We used lego movie make to make stop motion videos using legos. N - Colar is neat because it makes color sheet come to life with 3-d images.
Before our first blog post, our first Skype session, or first Tweet we learn about internet safety and digital citizenship. We all signed a contract agreeing to be safe on line and off line.
We blog about things in our class and what we are learning. We also blog about things in our lives like vacations and holidays. We make up stories and share our learning with people around the world. We also make pictures and videos to add to our blogs.
We can contact people on Twitter like our favorite GoNoodle people, authors, illustrators, other classes, and experts. We share our learning and see what other kids are doing in their classrooms.
We have skype with authors, classes, and experts. We learned about rhinos from a friend in S. Africa, we have mystery with classes all over the US and in other parts of the world. It’s fun trying to figure out where the other class is located using our map skills.
