  3. INTRODUCTION YOUTH Youth Population: Pakistan’s youth constitutes almost 64 per cent of the total population. ? Question: W hether Pakistani Youth is ready to determine the fate of entire future of Pakistan? LOST The Generation Lost : A n age that lack stable government, justified economic growth, basic physiological needs and high rate of unemployment.
  4. The Political System of Pakistan PUBLIC It’s not the Public: Pakistan’s political system has always been ruled by reigns in hands of few influencing families or army dictators. DISTANCE Youth at Distance: The imbalance in the political infrastructure restricted the youth to participate in the national policies and ultimately the process of policy making. EXPLORE Exploring the Potential : Now in globalised world It’s very high time to explore the potential of Pakistani youth as positive change agents.

  10. SELECTION OF AREA BK Tehsil Mankera: Thesil Mankera is one of four administrative units of District Bhakkar(BK). Mankera is further divided in to 7 union councils (administrative units). There are 108 villages and total population is 170,000.
  11. PROBLEMS OF THE AREA ISSUES! What they have: There is only one intermediate (till 12 th garde) school and only 12 high schools offering education till 10 th grade with some primary schools offering education till 5 th grade. Health and transportation facilities are very rare.
  12. THE PLAN ICT Information & Communication Technology: The Plan was to train at least 5 youth representatives from each union council in using internet ,networking and communicating there problems and suggesting solutions through it.
  13. RESULTS Y4DC Youth for Development Centers: So far there are 108 male Y4DC’s and 108 female Y4DC’s and 7 union council level Y4DC’s. Each center has working body of 10 trained people.
  14. CHANGE BEFORE Isolated Groups: The youth and the majority of the people were not aware of the power of community-networking and were very passive about their role in community. AFTER Hear Us: they want to be heard and participate in policy making process at every level.
