This document discusses analyzing the forces in a roof truss. It provides the dimensions and loading of the truss example, and notes the assumptions made in truss analysis including that members are pin connected and loading only occurs at joints. Instructions are given to determine the force in each truss member and whether each member is in tension or compression.

There are four main assumptions made in
the analysis of truss
1-Truss members are connected together at their ends
only.
2-Truss are connected together by frictionless pins.
3-The truss structure is loaded only at the joints.
4-The weights of the members may be neglected.
