2. Invictus: An overview
 The film tells the inspiring true story of
how Nelson Mandela joined forces with
the captain of South Africa's rugby team
to help unite their country.
 The movie begins with election of Nelson
Mandela as the president of South Africa,
when the country is still psychologically
divided into blacks and whites.
 When the country was facing multiple
problems such as increasing crime rates, low
economy, currency, Nelson Mandela
identified the core problem: The
psychological divide within the country.
 He wisely spotted out that Sports could be
an effective way of bridging this gap and
creating harmony, as well as establishing his
country’s brand internationally.

 A free, open minded leader, who liked
frank interactions with the masses
 A leader, sensitive for every team member:
complimented assistants enquired
bodyguards about their families
Broad perspective thinker: donated
1/3rd of his salary for charity.
Believed in the ‘Human touch’: took

winning world cup was much greater than the mutual unrest between
blacks and whites.
