Were as we found that certain types of sites are definite accident locations and it was overlooked by the concerned authorities and not yet focused on such locations to amended, where they has to give greater attention in the matter. But overlooked! </li></ul><ul><li>If the general travelling public know the accident spots they can negotiate with such location with caution and avoid accidents. A few such accident locations are described in this noble project. </li></ul>

<ul><li>Serious accidents occurring on road is a matter of great concern for all of us. Not a day passes when we do not hear the sad news report of at least 2 or 3 serious road accidents in our society as per Electronic & News Paper media. </li></ul><ul><li>Almost everyone has been affected by such accidents at one time or the other, either it’s a minor or major., because a relative or friend is somehow connected to such evil. The number of deaths per annum is more than 10000 motor vehicle across the country and it was tallied about 10 to 15 times more than that in other countries. </li></ul><ul><li>The types of motor vehicle is also increasing day by day in our Nation & World-Wide. Though it is a sign of improving economy of our country. It is a bitter truth that is also adds the graph of ROAD accidents on roads and it is a great loss to the precious human life in this heavy traffic world. Unless there is an widespread awareness among our citizens, it is difficult control the road accidents and accidental deaths. </li></ul>

<ul><li>Major cause of ROAD Accidents & Accidental is ROAD designing! </li></ul><ul><li>ROAD widening is indeed required in our NATION! </li></ul><ul><li>ROAD designing is a major problem in INDIA and the concerned architects are in research to minimize the ROAD graph and widen the ROAD width! </li></ul><ul><li>Our INDIAN R&B authorities inability to provide enough funds to widen the roads or to construct new roads in proportion to rise in vehicle population also results in perpetuating this affairs. </li></ul><ul><li>With the rapid increase of the MOTOR vehicle population it is indeed required to widen the Highway’s, as well as in urban & rural areas of our country! </li></ul><ul><li>NATIONAL corridor Kashmir to Kanya-Kumari is an excellent idea by our Hon’ble.Shri.Atal Behari Vachpayji, The Former Prime Minister of INDIA and the attempt by INDIAN government to reduce the ROAD accidents with such noble project is highly appreciable! </li></ul>

<ul><li>Broadly ROAD accidents occur due to the following reasons: </li></ul><ul><li>1) Defects in vehicle! Example: </li></ul><ul><li>a) Breakage of tie-rod of a running vehicle tyre bursting, </li></ul><ul><li>b) Wheel coming loose or failure of brakes. </li></ul><ul><li>c) Due to such occurrence the driver loses control on the vehicle and an accident </li></ul><ul><li>results. </li></ul><ul><li>2) Error of driver! Example: </li></ul><ul><li>a) Improper overtaking at a wrong place, </li></ul><ul><li>b) Turning abruptly or stopping without prior signaling, which can cause collision with </li></ul><ul><li>the vehicle following; </li></ul><ul><li>c) Riving fast through villages exceeding the speed limit; </li></ul><ul><li>d) Falling asleep at the wheel, overturning due to going round a curve at excessive </li></ul><ul><li>speed, driving while intoxicated etc., </li></ul><ul><li>3) Environment around the road! Example: </li></ul><ul><li>* Error of drivers of other vehicles like bullock carts, cycles, rickshaw, jay walking, pedestrians, school children being run over, cattle or dogs etc. running onto roads . </li></ul><ul><li>4) Defects in roads: </li></ul><ul><li>* A study of accidents registered with the concerned authorities shows that the number of accidents due to this reason is around 25% of total accidents. Even allowing for some errors in analysis of reasons for accidents, the figure will not exceed more than 40%. </li></ul>
