This presentation was given to a group on how to get teachers to integrate technology in their classrooms.

3. Coral, Guppies and Octopus Guppy Octopus Coral Coral remains firmly fixed in their methods and will not change no matter what! The guppy is very timid about trying new things and must be coaxed to do so. Octopus want to do the right thing but end up in a cloud going eight different directions.

4. Salmon, Tuna and Shark Tuna Shark Salmon Salmon know it’s an upstream battle but are determined to make the effort. Tuna fish always swim in a school, and only do what the group wants. They will not go against the “flow”. Shark are aggressive power users who frighten all the other users away.

5. fish frighteners Time and Commitment Instruction shouldn’t stop with a one time show. Teachers need time to make mistakes, practice, learn and absorb facts just like their students. Resistance (I can’t because…) Implementation This is the “When am I ever going to use this?” scenario. Teachers need time to apply the learning to their current classroom situation. Left on their own, new learning will fall to disuse.
