4. INTRODUCTION
• Microsoft Hololens is a smart glass which is the
first cordless, self-contained holographic
computer running on Windows10.
• The Hololens is similar to Google Glass in that it
uses AR technology
5. HOLOGRAMS
• A Three Dimensional image formed by the
Interference of light beams from a laser or other
light source.
• A hologram is a physical structure that diffracts
light into image.
• It does not have any mass.
7. MIXED REALITY
It is the merging of real and virtual worlds to
produce new environments and visualization
where physical and digital objects co-exist
and interact in real time.
8. HOW IT WORKS?
Microsoft Hololens has user interface so it takes
voice, gaze and gestures as input command.
12. 1.Camera
The project hololens depth camera has a field of
vision that spans 120 by 120 degree, so it can
sense what hands are doing even when they
are nearly outstretched.
2. Computer
• Hololens is not just a visor connected to a
computer, it is a computer on its own.
• Hololens contain CPU, battery, GPU and first of
its kind HPU (holographic processing unit).
13. 3.Lenses
• Microsoft Hololens has two display which are
transparent.
• To create project Hololens image, light particles
bounce around millions of times in the so called
light engine of the device.
• Then the photons enter the two lenses(one for
each eye).
14. 4.Sensors
• Sensor track where the wearer is looking and
adjust the display.
• Motion sensor detect wearers movement.
• The sensor can also see wearers hands, the
hands are an input system: user can interact
with whatever he sees by just touching it.
15. 5.Vent
The device is more powerful than a laptop but
won’t overheat- warm air flows to the sides,
where it vents up and out .
6.Buttons
On the right side buttons allow user to adjust the
volume and to control the contrast of the
hologram
16. 7.Speakers
• A precise audio experience without
headphones that is immersive.
• Microsoft Hololens synthesizes sound, so
that holograms can be heard from
anywhere in room.
17. FEATURES
• Transform the world with
holograms
Microsoft Hololens brings
high-definition
holograms to life in the
world, where
they integrate with
physical places,
spaces, and things
18. • Design & Develop
As holograms, the digital content will be as
real as physical objects in the room. For the
first time, holograms will become practical
tools of daily life.
19. • New ways to teach
and learn
It’s easier to show
than to tell, so do
both. With
Microsoft Hololens,
friends and
colleagues can help
with difficult tasks
using Holo Notes in
Skype.
20. ADVANTAGES
• No cords, no phones,
no wires.
• Transparent lens and
advanced sensors.
• Lightweight and
adjustable.
• Built-in spatial sound.
DISADVANTAGES
• Can be easily
damaged
• It may lead to
accident while
driving.
• Privacy of people
may be hindered.
• Radiation can cause
health issues.
21. CONCLUSION
Holographic computing experiences with
Microsoft Hololens is different from existing
technologies. It is more rich, more responsive and
more capable.
HOLOLENS IS A STEP INTO THE FUTURE;
A FUTURE BEYOND YOUR IMAGINATION…
