 Academic Integrity is a student’s responsibility to be
  academic honest in his or her schoolwork.
 Academic Integrity is a moral code or ethical policy
  of academics
Types of Academic Dishonesty

 Plagiarism: Plagiarism includes the copying of
  language, structure, or ideas of another’s without
  giving it credit and claiming it as your own.
 Fabrication: Making
  up, altering, falsifying, misstating data, work, and/or
  information.
 Unauthorized Collaboration: Working with other
  students on homework, lab work, papers, and
  presentations without the permission or direction
  from the professor.
Consequences

 Warning/Censure
 Disciplinary Probation
 Suspension/Interim Suspension
 Dismissal
Ways to Prevent Academic Dishonesty

 Manage your time – study ahead of time!
 Organize your priorities.
 Check your syllabus.
 Go to office hours.
 If you’re unsure, ask your professor and/or TA.
 Be confident of your studies.
 Know the consequences of academic dishonesty!
How to Prevent Procrastination

 Stop thinking, start doing!
 Just take it one step at a time – break your work
    into steps.
   Start your day off with the hardest task.
   Change your environment.
   Create a detailed outline with specific deadlines.
   Face your fear.
   Hang out with people who inspire you to take
    action.
   Getting it done creates more time for other tasks.
   Just do it!
Study Tips
 Create a study schedule.
 Don’t pull all nighters.
 Take naps.
 Take breaks.
 Find a place to study where you won’t get distracted.
 Take thorough notes in class.
 Keep up with reading assignments regularly.
 Ask questions!
 Study hard subjects first.
 Read the text actively & slowly before & after class.
 Highlight text in your textbook/notebook.
How to Destress!

 Exercise or take a walk.
 Meditation.
 Play with a pet.
 Volunteer.
 Take a bubble bath.
 Coloring.
 Enjoy your favorite hobby!
 Drink herbal tea.
 Take slow, deep breaths!
Health Tips

 Eat right – eating the right foods will keep your energy
  up! Fresh fruits and veggies are great as snacks and brain
  food.
 Exercise –exercising on a regular basis is crucial to
  maintaining a healthy lifestyle! Exercise at least three
  times that week for at least twenty to thirty minutes.
  Exercising is a great way to take a break from studying.
 Stay hydrated – water is your best friend! Students often
  rely on caffeinated drinks such as tea, coffee, soda, and
  energy drinks. Too much consumption of caffeine will
  impact your sleeping schedule.
