2. Dada began in Zurich, Switzerland in 1916, spreading to Berlin shortly
thereafter.
The absurdity of Dada activities created a mirror of the absurdity in the world
around them. Dada was anti-aesthetic, anti-rational and anti-idealistic.
Surrealist works were bound up with the psychoanalytical theories of
Sigmund Freud relating to the irrational and instinctual drives of the
unconscious.
3. André Breton was a French writer and poet. He is known best as the founder of Surrealism.
19 February 1896 – 28 September 1966
Breton was a major member of the Dada group and the founder of Surrealism. He was
dedicated to avant-garde art-making and was known for his ability to unite disparate artists
through printed matter and curatorial pursuits.
Breton drafted the Surrealist Manifesto in 1924, deeply affecting the methodology and
origins of Abstract Expressionism.
His aim was to gather all the information possible related to forms that might express the
unconscious activity of the mind.

5. • Was born in France (1978)
• He was raised by a revolutionary militant family, lovers of the
Surrealism, Cinema, Jazz, Blues and Folk music
• When he got his first camera he started taking pictures “just for
the fun of it”
• He is now a portrait photographer as he always works around
the personality, the inner world and the own fantasies of his
models
• The ideas for his photographs come from a mix between
improvisation, my feelings of the moment, my sensations toward
the models... and a personal culture, mythology made of
artistic, cinematographic, musical references, etc.

• He discovered photography at the age of 13 under the
guidance of his father (photo instrumentation engineer)
