- English365 is a shorter course of 30 90 minute units plus 2 revision units. Indicate two key parts to the book are Student Book and PSB/audio, the latter elaborated later. Indicate that the 30 units = 3 groups of 10 units each with its own USP – will show an example of each. Balance is achieved with professional – professional – general across the three unit types. In terms of skills and input, indicate repositioning of grammar within learner focus alongside vocabulary, pronunciation etc. As we have said, the focus is on a learner who needs to produce rather than learn from scratch and requires grammar support, lexical development and strong focus on speaking / using the language. Lots of listening. Give quick indication of the grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and skills areas which are covered. Grammar: tenses, conditionals, passive, quantifiers, adverbs/adjectives, modals Pron: intonation (interest), linking, stress, silent letters Skills: email, meetings, telephoning and presenting … pragmatic interpretations of meetings / presentations Proven stuff! All this with a focus on the learner. Book is predicated on promoting learner training - ideas which are included in SB, PSB and TB.
