1. Oliver Diglesias is a journalist and a rising media personality from Colombia. He was born in Barranquilla in 1986 and graduated with honors from the School of Social Communication and Journalism of Universidad Autónoma del Caribe in July 2009, where he also obtained a major in Organizational Communication and the “Mario CeballosAraujo” Medal, Honorable Mention and Fellowship to continue with his Graduate School (Specialization in Senior Management) in reason to his outstanding academic achievements. Diglesiashas 3 years broadcasting experience with a high profile among Colombian citizens living abroad thanks to his work in RCN Colombia News, Southamerica’s First English Language Newscast belonging to Colombia’s most important private broadcasting television network RCN where he was the executive producer and weekend anchor. In addition, he hosted popular weekly segments “My Colombia”, “My Spanish Lessons” and “Dancing with Diglesias”, where he displayed the best of Colombia’s culture, dances, foods, slangs and typical expressions through his charisma and unique personality on screen. Oliver also reported a number of events of Latinamerican relevance from the anchor desk at RCN Studios in Bogota such as the Fifth Summit of the Americas, 2009 Interamerican Development Bank General Assembly and Barranquilla’s Carnival. Before joining RCN News, Oliver Diglesias was a well known local pop fusion artist while working as an intern for Channel 23 in his hometown of Barranquilla, where he was the host of “Universidad en Marcha”, an institutional program with local news coverage.
