3. A Lot of patients coming to the health centres
with problem related to smoking and passive
smoking. They include cancer ,cardiovascular
disease, low birth weight(pregnancy)

To address the reasons for smoking which include
boredom, stress,social and crave for
nicotine(nicotine addiction)
Health needs assessment was conducted to access
their health needs
Target population 35 yrs and above
Health Needs Assessment
1.Reduction in the number of smokers which will
eventually reduce the diseases associated with smoking
2.Reduce mortality rates and increase life expectancy
Data surveillance collected showed an increase in
coronary heart disease and lung cancer among
smokers ,also showed an increase in the number of the
people smoking before going an operation .According
to National Institute of Clinical Excellence guideline
,(N.I.C.E.,2012) on smoking cessation, it recommends
that all patient being referred for elective surgery
Should be encouraged to stop smoking before going
for an operation to ensure high survival rates and
reduce post operative complication.

Budget -£100,000.00 . This would cover expenditures which
include Advertising, printing, utilities,insurance,staff cost and
Resources.
Resources—Nicotine replacement therapy, zyban, leaflets,
chewing gum, lozenges, reminder through text message ,
