Sistren Theatre Collective is working to preserve Jamaican culture through a project in Allman Town. The project involves weekly sessions teaching traditional dance, songs, rituals and costumes. It also explores Jamaican language through proverbs and riddles. Activities included a field trip that taught participants about Jamaican history through experiences like visiting a Taino village and reenacting the arrival of Columbus. The overall goal is to help preserve Jamaican cultural traditions and history.
