Business Process <ul><ul><li>At Bayer the plant assets are managed with a module called Technical Shift Book, a development by BBS. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>All the events that occur during a shift are documented and recorded in the technical shift book. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>The information that is relevant for completing the required data for these messages is either stored in Historian Databases, or is available in an MES system. </li></ul></ul>Frank Bezjak, Martin Zeller

Event based massaging <ul><ul><li>The events that occur during a production process are called Z1-Z4 messages, related to the TSB policy. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>The messages are divided in to groups. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>The first group contains the Z1-Z3 messages. SAP XI <ul><ul><li>Therefore the first step of the integration was the mapping of the Z1 – Z4 messages to the B2MML-V0300-Material schema, based on the mandatory data fields. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>The outgoing message is Maintenance Request and the incoming message is Maintenance Response. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Finally this process is offered through WSDL and this is the basis for the Coupling Software on the plant site. </li></ul></ul>Frank Bezjak, Martin Zeller

Conclusion and Outlook (1/2) <ul><ul><li>Using B2MML delivers an advantage from a pure technical perspective. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>To our experience the advantage from an organizational perspective is even more important. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Application specialists are usually familiar with either ERP or MES. For integration purposes both groups developed a joint solution. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>After both groups learned to use B2MML, it was rather easy to run the integration, since both groups now have a common understanding based on syntax and semantics of B2MML. </li></ul></ul>Frank Bezjak, Martin Zeller

Additional interface layers may then become obsolete. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>In the pilot project B2MML was used for plant maintenance.
