19. Top Songs from 1973
Here are Billboard's Top 10 songs of 1973 in descending order (none of which were my favorites):
10. A "girly "song (yawn) by Diana Ross called “Touch Me in the Morning.”
9. Carly Simon sings (apparently to Mick Jagger) “You’re so Vain.”
8. One of the guys who backed The Beatles, Billy Preston sang “Will it Go Round in Circles.”
7. “Crocodile Rock”, by Elton John, I like this song but “Tiny Dancer” was much, much better.
6. “Why Me (Lord)” by Kris Kristofferson is in the wrong venue.
5. Alright one of my very favorites, Paul McCartney but not so crazy about this one, “My Love”.
4. Marvin Gaye was one of the best but this song was “risqué” back in the day, “Let’s Get it On”.
3. Roberta Flack sings “Killing Me Softly” which by the way, was the theme song for our Basketball
Coronation!!
2. "Bad, Bad, Leroy Brown” by Jim Croce was just what I considered not very good but what do I know??
1. Tony Orlando and Dawn sing "Tie A Yellow Ribbon 'Round the Old Oak Tree.“ Some songs you just have to
"endure.“
