1. Lab 1: Office 2007 System Installation (Beta2
and Beta 2 Technical Refresh)
Objectives
After completing this lab, you will be able to:
• Install and configure the Office 2007 System in a single server farm configuration
• Use the Office 2007 System installation wizard
• Upgrade from Beta 2 to Beta 2 Technical Refresh
Prerequisites
Before working on this lab, you must have:
• A system will all the prerequisites installed and properly configured
Scenario
This lab was completed for you. This is for your reference only!
Estimated time to complete this lab: 50 minutes + 180 minutes for the upgrade – Exercise 3.
Exercise 1
Installing the Office 2007 System on a the first server
In this exercise, you will install and configure the Office 2007 System as a single server farm
architecture.
∑ You do not need to perform these steps as they have been completed for you.
1. Launch the Setup program of the Office System Server (OSS)
2. Accept the Software License Terms and enter your Product Key
3. Select Complete – Install all components. Can add servers to form a SharePoint farm.
4. Click Install Now
5. Check the box to Run the SharePoint Products and Technologies Configuration Wizard
now

6. Click Close
7. Select Yes to boot now.
Continue to Exercise 2 after the system completed the reboot.

Exercise 2
Configure the Office 2007 System
In this exercise, you will configure the environment using the Configuration Wizard. It will guide
you through all the necessary steps required for this installation including the SQL database(s). If
you do a mistake or a reconfiguration become necessary, you will be able to launch the wizard and
go through it again - Start, All Programs, Administration Tools, SharePoint 3.0 Central
Administration and select Yes to launch the Wizard.
∑ You do not need to perform these steps as they have been completed for you.
In the eventuality that the Configuration Wizard does not launch automatically after the system is
back up, click Start, All Programs, Administration Tools, SharePoint 3.0 Central Administration
and select Yes to launch the Wizard.
1. Click Next in the Welcome page
2. Click Yes on the following message
3. On the Connect to a server farm page select No, I want to create a new server farm and click
Next.
(The other option is… Yes, I want to connect to an existing server farm.)
4. In the Specify Configuration Database Settings page
Database Server: OS
Database name: SharePoint_Config (The default database name)
5. In the Specify Database Access Account section on the same page:
Username: litwareincAdministrator
Password: pass@word1
6. Click Next
7. In the Configure SharePoint Central Administration Web Application page
Keep the auto-generated port number (Do not check the box)

8. In the Configure Security Settings section on the same page
Select NTLM (the default selection – the other option is Kerberos)
9. Click Next
10. Verify that all the settings are as they should be
11. Click Next (Steps 1 – 9 begun)
Note: In about 10 – 15 min the Configuration Successful will appear.
12. Click Finish
13. Installation completed and the Central Administration appears.
Exercise 3
Upgrade the Office 2007 System Beta 2 installation to Beta 2 Technical
Refresh
In this exercise, you will upgrade the environment using the Microsoft Office SharePoint Server
2007 for Beta 2 Technical Refresh installation procedure located at the following url:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=920B9690-B835-4785-A771-
188C2082B2BC&displaylang=en. By using the “How to upgrade an existing Beta 2 installation to
Beta 2 Technical Refresh” section, it will guide you through all the necessary steps required for
this upgrade.
∑ You do not need to perform these steps as they have been completed for you. This could
take between 2 – 3 hrs depending of the available hardware.
