2. Issue:
The issue is to check the stress level in smokers.
Hypothesis:
Male non- smokers have less stress level than male smokers. (one – tailed )
Method of Data Collection:
Research survey was done by a stress questionnaire given to the sample population to check the
level of stress on them.
Sample Population:
The Sample population selected was 130 males of age from 15 to 30 among which there were
randomly selected smokers and non smokers.
Data Analysis:
Transform variables to recode into different variables from 5 points (Always true, Often True,
sometimes true, Seldom True, and Never True) to 2 points data (True and false).

Issue:
What is the mean, standard deviation, skewness and kurtosis of data on how much people
smoke and their age?
Interpretation:
The data of smokers and non-smokers is negatively skewed and platykurtic.
The population sample age is positively skewed and leptokurtic

How many people in data are smokers and nonsmokers?
Interpretation:
There are 41.5 % smokers and 58.5 % non-smokers in sample data
7. Interpretation:
59% of people in data are non-smokers
9.2% smoke 1 to 2 Cigarettes daily
13.8% smokes 3 to 5 cigarettes daily
10.8 % smokes 1 packet
more than 1 packet smokers are 6.9 %.
10. Correlation
Interpretation:
Negative Correlation:
Smoking is negatively correlated with the items of stress related to taking favor from
a person, doing exercise at least for two weeks till the point of perspiration,
having friends and family and taking time for fun at least once a week.
Positive Correlation:
Other items are positively correlated which includes taking time for themselves,
having calm conversations during stressors, generally in good health and are able
to speak openly about feelings and share their personal matters with at least one
person and have adequate income.
The data is statistically significant.
11. Interpretation
According to the comparison between smokers and non smokers through
custom table it was found that “The non smokers have less stress than
smokers.”

12. Conclusion:
The data occurs to be significant and is not normally
distributed. We cannot reach to any conclusion therefore the
hypothesis not proved and rejected.
