- It appeared in France around
1730.
-The name Rococo comes from
rocaille (stone) and coquille
(shell) and it was a decorative
and overelaborated style,
used as a complement of
architecture.
- Florid and playful decorations
were used in tapestry,
furniture, small sculptures,
clocks…
-It was considered to be a
superficial, frivolous and poor
taste style.
