This document contains summaries of two lectures on social psychology topics: 1) The first lecture discussed attitudes, their components (cognitive, affective, behavioral), theories of attitude change (evaluative conditioning, operant conditioning, observational learning), and using examples like advertisements. 2) The second lecture covered conformity and group behavior, including Stanley Milgram's experiment on obedience, the power of social situations, and benefits of working in groups. Examples of how behaviors can be influenced by others and social roles were provided.

2. Journal: Attitudes
The fourth social psychology was about components and theories of attitudes, and the first
thing that came out was the definition which says that attitudes are positive or negative
evaluations of objects of thoughts that includes many things. So in class,the lecturer
discussed with studentsabout the components and they are cognitive, affective, and
behavioral and the factors that can change them are source, message and receiver and also
some examples. After that students took a look at some interesting and also creative
advertisements such as posters and billboards and then learning about theories of attitude
change such as evaluative conditioning, operant conditioning, and observational
learning.Then the lecturer explained more about the operant condition and process contains
stimulus, response, and finally effect on behavior or learning and as an example we discussed
about the Skinner box and cumulative recorder. Next the lecture went through observational
condition which is learning from observing or in other word “monkey see monkey do’’ and
based on Albert Bandura it includes four key processes such as attention, retention,
reproduction, and motivation, so after that we discussed about crimes and media effects on
them and as examples we looked on some newspaper titles. At the end the last topic that
discussed was cognitive dissonance and having fun by answering the quiz which students
should say the color of the worlds.

3. Journal: Conformity and Group Behavior
This lecture’s topic was about conformity and group behavior, so we discussed about how
behaviors by different ways. As an example in the class if everyone answer a question
wrongly and even one student thinks that the answer, he still follow others and answer the
same with others, so his behavior has been affected and controlled by his classmates. After
that we specified on conformity, actually it involves yielding to social pressure and it divides
into group size to a point and group. Next we watched a video about Stanley Milgram
controversial landmark experiment which was very interesting and the lecturer told us that
Nazis used to do the same punishment on that time. In this experiment the student sits on an
electric shock seat and one teacher asks questions from him and if he answer it wrong the
teacher use the electric shock and every time increase the level and the examiner experiment
teachers about how long they can continue, but since the student and the teacher are in
different rooms and it’s just an experiment, the student get out of the seat and it’s just to test
the teachers. Then we focused more on social roles which is the power of situations and
“situation appropriate” behavior, so we watched a video which a man tries to kidnap a little
girl but it is fake and they were trying to capture others reaction and it was interesting to see
that many of people didn’t do anything to help the girl, but at the end two black young guys
tried to help that girl. At the end we learnt about benefits of groups and as examples, group of
doctors can get the better results or groups are better in solving complicated logic problems.
