2. Presentation Environment
For a suitable working environment at which to present my work. I must have easy access to the resources
needed to show my presentation.
As shown on the right, the following equipment is needed in order to achieve a successful presentation of my
work.
Also for a sustainable presentation, continues eye contact and focusing on what you are presenting, will show a
deep understand of your work and how you developed this further.
The computer screen at which my work is
the primary source of my presentation, I
will have access to seeing the slide and
the information as well as read of my own
notes.
The help of the keyboard and
mouse allowed me to have a
smooth transition as to a
successful presentation of my
pitch.
A smart board is how I will show my work
to the rest of my colleagues during my
pitch. This would allow myself and my
colleagues to see my work over a larger
space.
3. Presentation Environment - Continued
Also to help me film and present my
presentation, I was filmed with the use
of a camera.
And to support the camera while
presenting my pitch, the use of the
tripod was very helpful.
6. Analysis of Pitch
During my presentation, I was being recorded my a Canon Camera with a 32GB memory card. This helped me
see my body language, eye contact, and hear my tone of voice. Looking back through my pitch, I was able to
depict my strengths and weaknesses that I could improve on with delivering my pitch in future.
Although I had created a script, I did not quite follow it, as I tried to remember what I wrote off the top of my
head, this led me to the improvisation of my slide. However, I was able to explain each slide very well.
The improvements that I could have made, were to cue cards as my script, slow down in pace when speaking as
well as sound a little more professional and make more eye contact with my audience. Moreover my pitch went
very well, and the improvements suggested were very helpful for when I do other presentations in the future.
7. Improvements
on Pitch
After gaining some
helpful feedback and
improvements on my
pitch, from me fellow
classmates, I was able
to check my
statements as to what I
could have improved
on further.
Along with the
helpfulness of the
WWW and EBI I was
also able to
understand and see
the improves that
would have made my
pitch better, and what
those improve could do
in the future.
8. Presentation
I used Google Drive to help me create my Ctec Media Coursework as my work is continuously saved and easy
to access through my google/gmail account. This was a very useful tip as I did not need to save any of my work
on a Memory stick, as I did not want any of my images, fonts and work to get corrupted. Google Drive was a lot
more easier to edit and access all my work. Finally, Google Drive was a great way to keep all my work
organised and save continuously; I could add/ create folder, and make Word Documents (Google Docs), use
Excel (Google Sheets) and create Powerpoints (Google Slides).
9. Presentation - continued
Once my work was complete, I went to:
“File”, “Download as” and clicked on “Microsoft Powerpoint (.pptx); which I how I presented my presentation.
And “PDF Document (.pdf); If I wanted to upload my work to Wordpress and the File size is a lot smaller and
more faster to upload.
10. Survey Monkey - Feedback
Before my pitch, I sent a school email to my fellow Media Studies, which they had quick and
easy access to my questionnaire and give me feedback. I created the five question survey two
days before my pitch and emailed my classmates the link the day before my presentation.
11. Witness Statement From the feedback that I
have received from my
teacher, I included
everything from the ‘Unit 13
Checklist’ into my pitch
As well as some feedback
on What Went Well during
the presentation of my
pitch.
Helpful feedback such as,
presenting very
professionally, covering all
the documents and
detailing my slide
(developing them further
through explanations) was
very helpful for me.
12. Witness Statement As well as receiving a WWW, I also got
helpful feedback on what I could improve
on.
With my improvements, I will alter them
and include screenshots and explain how
I have developed them further.
Along with the improvements on my
Photoshop work, I would improve my
Front cover for my first magazine,
(TeensRule) as well as the DPS by
including a Drop Capital to make it look
more professional.
However, I will also improve my second
magazine to make it relate more to the
Rock Genre.
13. TeensRule - Corrections to Photoshop Work; Front Cover
● I altered the width of the
masthead which made it stand
out more to my target audience
● I also moved my main image
slightly more towards the centre
of the magazine.
● I positioned and resized the
main headline and the pull quote
underneath to make a it a bit
more readable and clear.
● Then I moved the barcode,
price, web address and social
medias more towards the left
side of the magazine, which
presents more of the main image
● Finally, I changed the Supreme
logo by making the drop shadow
more opaque and give a better
effect to the logo.

● I then moved the Beats

15. TeensRule - Corrections to Photoshop Work; DPS
Overall, I really like how the magazine suits the genre of hip-hop, and that the colour scheme is very complimentary.
What I changed with my double page spread was that I decided to change the main image/ background into black and white
leaving the candle flame in colour.
I also, added the letter ‘T’ behind the text, this made the magazine stand out more, as well as present quite a simplistic and unique
style.

16. RockStars - Corrections to Photoshop Work; DPS
What I decided to change with my dps, what to
change the “Pull quote” and simplify it more,
therefore, I went for a black text and removed the
rectangular background.
I also added a drop shadow to one of my main
image and placed it more the red border to present
more a 3D/pop effect.

I also decided to improve the double page spread
further, as such by replacing my second main image
and wrap my interview text around the main image as
well as alter the positioning of my main into two
different sections: Headline and strapline.
I also decided to change the pull quote into something
more simplistic alongside, quite eye-catching.

18. TeensRule - Corrections to Photoshop Work; Backpage
Firstly, I wanted to change
the concept of having the
Canon logo stand out more,
therefore, I decided to make
the logo bigger in size and
place it over the main image.
Secondly, I wanted to
change the main image,
therefore, I selected the
image, leaving out the canon
camera and changed the
image to black and white.

19. Rocktars - Corrections to Photoshop Work; Backpage
What I decided to do with
this back page, was that i
wanted it to be more out
there; therefore I went onto
a different approach to
present the men’s fashion
advertisement
I copied the image twice,
and changed the opacity of
each, then selected the
image and painted it in a
different colour with a light
opacity; I also, spread the
image out a bit more.
Finally, I changed the drop
shadow effect of the ‘YSL’
logo which made the logo
pop out more.

21. Conclusion
Overall, after pitching my Unit 13 working as to the key features and
important stages to my magazine production; for instance, collecting
inspiration from my three chosen magazines of inspiration and
presenting them in a mood board, creating my hand drawn drafts
and graphic layouts and analysis of the production process
(Advertisement Revenue and Staff and Cost).
To conclude this LO, the research and understanding that with the
feedback I received from my peers and teacher on the
improvements helped me understand that magazine industries go
through many process in creating new edition; however, relating
back to this LO, the feedback I received helped me understand the
connotations as to where I needed to improve in the production and
analysis my front covers, double page spreads and back page
advertisements.
