We are a team of young blood. Some of our Payilagam team mates are Childhood friends, few college mates and few other as Colleagues in Professional life and ended as friends. One common thing about the Payilagam team is we have around Five Years of experience in the Software field.
When we came out of our college campus the entire world was new to us. Though we were alumni of various leading government and private engineering colleges, we experienced difficult situations and the road to reach this position had lot of hurdles.
Each of us realized that there is a huge gap between the 10+2+4 education system and the Jobs field what we want to be in. During our initial days of job hunt, we found many software training centers with fake promises of placement and career.
Some of our friends believed those fake promises, joined there with dreams and hopes but all went in vain. None of the claims of these institutes were true, are true and neither will be. These so called “Best Software Training Institutes” captivate the students not for the welfare of the students but for their own profit margins. These taught us strong lesson not to believe these software training institutes in Chennai. All these experience fed us thought for starting a software training institute in Chennai and in turn saw the seed ‘Payilagam’. Networking “CCNA”
TCP/IP:
TCPIIP is the transport protocol used on the internet. This module covers the
fundamentals of TCPIIP like IP Address, NID. HID. Subnet Mask, Class· A, Class - B, Class - C
Networks and their identification. Number of Class - A. Class - B, Class - C networks.
Number of host in each of the networks.
Subnetting:
To improve the network performance the network can be divided into different
broadcast domains by a technique called subnetting. Some bits from the host Id will be
converted into network id bits. The performance of the network is improved by limiting the
broadcast packets of the subnet within the subnet. This module introduced the students to
the concept of subnetting.
OSI Reference Model:
Open System interconnection Reference model gives guidelines to different
vendors so that their products can interoperate with each other. The functionality of all the
7 layers will be explained. How encapsulation helps different layers talk to each other will
be explained with emphasis on the importance of the Hardware Addresses and IP
Addresses.
Routing:
Every system configured with an IP Address has a routing table in which routes
are defined for different networks. When the packets have to be routed from one network
to another a router is required. The routers maintain the routing tables and help the
packets reach the destination. This module introduce the student to the STATIC and
DYNAMIC routing issues.

This chapter explains what the functionality of DNS is and how DNS is used in our
day to day life. Resulting domain name to ip address and vice versa will be explained. ARP
& RARP will also be covered.
Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol:
What is the necessity of DHCP? Configuring DHCP on Class A, B & C private IP
address. How DHCP is linked with DNS will also be explained.
Virtual Private Network:
What are risks involved while accessing public network. How we can securely
communicate in the public network. Types of VPN.
IPV6:
Exhaustion of IPV4 address. Introduction to 128 bit IPV6. Configuring IPV6
address in Linux and in routers will be covered.
Cisco Router Configuration:
Command Line Interface: The user mode, Privilege mode, global configuration
mode and the specific configuration modes are explained. How many ways a router can be
accessed and how to restrict access with passwords will also explained.
Routing Protocols RIP. IGRP. OSPF. EIGRP:
The configuration of router for both static and dynamic routing is explained. The
distance vector routing protocols like RIP, IGRP are explained. The metrics used the
problems of dynamic routing and their remedies are explained.
Access Lists:
The router acting as a packet filter can allow or deny the packets access to the
networks. The router can act as a security guard sitting at the gate trying to check as to who
is entering the network and who is leaving the network. The definitions we give the router
in checking the packets are called as Access Lists. How to configure the router for Standard
and Extended access lists will also be explained.

Wide Area Networking:
The geographically disperse networks of an enterprise can be connected by any
third party network thus forming a WAN. The encapsulating protocols like HDLC, PPP, and
Frame - Relay are explained. Enabling authentication between the routers with PAP and
CHAP are explain. Frame relay DLCI numbers and how the PVC's are created is explained.
The importance of ISDN terminology, Basic rate and primary rate ISDN, and
configuring a router for Dial on Demand routing (DDR) are also explained.
Booting:
The hardware of the router, the configuration register value, and boot fie1d will be
explained. How the ISO is loaded into the memory and how the configuration file is taken
from the NVRAM is also explained.
Collision Domains and Broadcast Domains:
The functionality of the HUB, SWITCH and ROUTER will be explained. Router
increases the number of collision domains and how a router increases the number of
broadcast domains and there by improve the network performance will be explained.
Switching:
The various functions of the switch and in how many modes it can run will be
explained. The concept of Logical broadcast domains. VLANS is discussed Loop avoidance
with spanning Tree Protocol is also discussed.
