This document introduces the "5in5" presentation format created by Converge+UK, which limits presentations to five slides within five minutes. This simplified format keeps the energy of fast-paced "Pecha Kutcha" presentations but is more enjoyable for audiences. The 5in5 format suits casual evening events and allows time for multiple speakers. Presenters are encouraged to share personal anecdotes or stories rather than conclusions or pitches. Examples of 5in5 topics include lessons from movies, proverbs, or nature applied to creativity, business, and technology.
2. PROBLEM
Petcha Kutcha presentations (20
slides in 7 mins) are fun. But they
are too fast paced to be enjoyable
for the audience (or the presenter).
Peter Thomson
3. SOLUTION
Converge+UK simplified the format
but kept the high energy of the
“speed presentation” style. Focus
on the presenter’s story, not
the slides!

4. FIVE SLIDES
Five slides is enough to cover the
key points of a topic. It suits a
casual evening event like
Converge+UK with drinks and
casual networking.

5. FIVE MINUTES
Five minutes allows for multiple
speakers. One minute per slide is a
good length for storytelling
and anecdotes.

6. TOPICS
Works best with personal war
stories or anecdotes about your
quirky/creative side-projects.
No shop talk, no pitching, no
conclusions and “takeaways”.
