14. 1.Be saved and forget it ..
In Philippians 2:12-13, Paul writes, “Therefore, my
dear friends, as you have always obeyed – not only
in my presence, but now much more in my absence
– continue to work out your salvation with fear and
trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and
to act according to his purpose

15. 2. No in-depth Bible study/ teaching
Hebrews 5:11-13
We have much to say about this, but it is hard to explain, because you are dull of
hearing.Although by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to reteach
you the basic principles of God’s word. You need milk, notsolid food! Everyone who
lives on milk is still an infant, inexperienced in the message of righteousness

16. 3. Pet theology
For the time will come when people will not put up with sound
doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around
them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want
to hear. 2Tim 4:3

17. 4. Absence of practical Christianity
If you claim to be religious but don’t control your tongue,
you are fooling yourself, and your religion is worthless. Pure
and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means
caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing
to let the world corrupt you.

Proverbs 3:5,6 Trust in the LORD with all your heart And do not lean
on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He
will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes;

19. Peter needed to get out of the Paradigm Paralysis
Acts 10:28,29 He said to them: “You are well aware that it is against
our law for a Jew to associate with or visit a Gentile. But God has
shown me that I should not call anyone impure or unclean. So when I
was sent for, I came without raising any objection. May I ask why you
sent for me?”

Over against the challenge of pluralism, we are to
be a community of truth, standing up for the
uniqueness of Jesus Christ.
Over against the challenge of materialism, we are
to be a community of simplicity and pilgrimage.
Over against the challenge of relativism, we are to
be a community of obedience.
Over against the challenge of narcissism, we are to
be a community of love.

22. • We are not to be like reeds shaken by the wind,
bowing down before gusts of public opinion, but
as immovable as rocks in a mountain stream.
• We are not to be like fish floating with the stream
(for “only dead fish swim with the current,” as
Malcolm Muggeridge put it), but to swim against
the stream, even against the cultural mainstream.
• We are not to be like chameleons, lizards that
change their color according to their
surroundings, but to stand out visibly against our
surroundings.
