This year, the Halloween celebration was simpler than previous years but we
were all still happy and excited. We wore Halloween clothes and each class pa-
raded around the playground. Our friend, Tim was given a gift for his impressive
costume. We also participated in many interesting games and received lots of
candy. Lastly, we danced together. We hope that next year our school will or-
ganize an even bigger Halloween Fun Day Grade 4

This was my first
time participating in
Halloween at this
school. It makes me very
happy. There were many
games and food. Some-
thing that used to scare
me is ghosts. It’s scary. I
have a house containing
ghosts but it’s very
friendly. I have a dog
and I turned it into a
zombie but it’s so cute
with me. On Halloween
Happy Halloween! Grade 6
At the Halloween party, I was very happy because I could go to the
Halloween party. The Halloween party started at 8 am. At half past 8
I wore my skeleton costume. At first, the teacher
came to my class and turned off the light and said:
“I’m coming” I screamed and ran out the class.
Then they said: “Yeah! You scared me”. I went to
the middle of the school and walked around the
school to play some games: Picked up the apple,
ate the biscuits, … I felt very happy and I think
this Halloween party was the best. I loved this
Halloween party. Thien Phuc
22. On 31th of October, it was Halloween. Two brothers, Gon and Killua,
were begging their mom Kurapika to let them go outside to go trick-
or-treating. Kurapika finally agreed and they ran upstairs to get
their costumes. Killua dressed up as a vampire and Gon also dressed
up as an adorable vampire. They said “goodbye” to their parents
Leorio and Kurapika and started heading up to houses to ask them
for candies. After hours of trick-or-treating, they finally had a large
amount of candies. On their way home, Gon saw a big house, and it
seemed like no one was home cause on the porch there was a bowl of
candies and a sign saying “Take one only!!” Gon smelt something weird
coming from the house, but Killua didn’t care and started going to-
wards the bowl to get some candies. Gon noticed something and ran
fast to Killua before he took any of the candies and screamed “IT’S A TRAP!”, but he was too late. Killua took the candies
and was tied up by some some string on his ankle and he was flipped upside down. Killua was confused and Gon started
laughing at him, Killua started blushing and trying to ask Gon for help but Gon just stood there and laughed. Suddenly Kil-
lua’s fingernails turned sharp so he could cut the string, and when he did he fell down on his head. Killua and Gon rushed
home after that, when they opened their front door they saw mother Kurapika with their father Lleorio sleeping on the
couch. Gon went to get them some blankets and put themt over his parents, after that Killua and Gon went to change their
clothes and started counting how many candies they had. Killua had 23 candies and Gon had 21 candies, they started un-
wrapping them and putting them in their mouth. They had some candies for their parents Kurapika and Leorio too. After
they had finished eating their part of the candies they went to brush their teeth and went to bed.

The Jack o’ Lantern on Halloween
When I woke up on November 1st
after the Halloween party, I felt that
I couldn’t move. I was a candle inside a Jack O’ Lantern pumpkin on a
person’s wall. When I took a look outside, there were too many people
dressed up in costumes such as ghosts, superheroes, Sans the skeleton
and his little brother Papyrus, werewolves, vampires, samurais, ninjas,
assasin, etc. I wished that I was human so that I could join Halloween.
Some kids came to their neighbors houses and they said “Trick or
treat?”, and the house owners gave them many types candies. The
street was noisy and crowded throughout the night and one band
played Halloween songs. The kids also came to my house, I was scared
but they didn’t kick me. After that day, I felt melt and died.

23. Halloween 2020
On October 30, my school celebrated Halloween in the
morning. The festival is not as big as the previous years,
but it was also very fun and meaningful. The schoolyard
was very crowded with the students of the school. At the
beginning of the festival, we saw a lion dance performed
by our school students and a professional lion dance
team. After that were the games held in the school yard.
The seniors gave us a very good and dramatic team
game, even though my team was in third place but we
still got a candy reward. I feel very grateful to them for
putting in the effort to make such a good game. I feel
happy at Halloween this year with my friends and
teachers. Khanh Vy.
Like every year, 31st of October is the Hallow-
een day and our school celebrates that day.
Usually, we celebrate it on Saturday evening
for the dark of the night but this year we
couldn’t do it like that because of the flood.
Instead, we have a smaller party on Friday
morning and no haunted house. That was bad
without haunted house, but it was ok. We had a
small party because we love to save money to
donate for the people in the flood. After the
party we had the treasure hunt game. Ms Chau
and some of Grade 9 members created it and
our team was the second. It was a fun day and I
wish next year will be a big party.
Khoa.
Last week, our school had a Halloween party in the
morning due to the flood. But it didn't matter. I must
say it was very happy. I played and danced together and
took creepy photos. Teachers allowed us to
participate in interesting games. It was my second Hal-
loween festival since the day I attended Phoenix Educa-
tion. After playing the games, we went to lunch and
played hide and seek. It was fun. On Halloween day, I
were watched Netflix. Then we went out to eat, and
talked together. I love Halloween day. I hope next year
we will have a happier Halloween party than thisyear.

GRADE 8
24. Halloween is a holiday celebrated on October 31st. The most
common colors of the day are orange and black. Halloween
comes from the ancient Celtic festival Samhain. The ancient
Celts believed that on October 31st, now known as Halloween,
the boundary between the living and the deceased is not clear,
and the dead become dangerous for the living by causing prob-
lems such as sickness or damaged crops. On Halloween, the an-
cient Celts would place a skeleton by their window to represent
the dead. Believing that the head was the most powerful part of
the body, containing the spirit and knowledge, the Celts used the
"head" of the vegetable to decorate their houses. On this day
people often wear strange clothes as characters in horrible novels
or movies to frighten others. People usually like to dress as
ghosts, skeletons, or witches. Now Halloween is an official holi-
day in almost all European countries.

It’s that time of year again
Leaves are turning colour and falling down
Halloween season is in the air
There is excitement everywhere
Of dressing up and trick or treating
Little bags filled with sweet treats
While the air is filled with joy
As well as cries from little children
Year after year the atmosphere never changes
Happy Halloween everyone!

Halloween fun day was fun. We started around 8am
and finished around before lunch. A lot of people
dressed up which was nice, I dressed up as a clown.
We had a few activities in that day. I would say my fa-
vorite game was treasure hunting. We had 5 teams , I
was in team 2 with Thao and Shawnee. We basically
got a piece of paper that we needed to solve what was
on the paper, and if there was a task with it we would
need to do it. Team 2 won which was the team I was
in! and that was really it for Halloween fun day.

Halloween Fun Day-International Class
On the day of the Halloween Party, my parents
brought me to school and then wore my costume. At
8:00 the party started and we showcased our cos-
tumes, I had a box as a costume. Some time later we
got to make a mummy, the rules are the best mummy
wins, there were 4 teams, Sundance volunteered to be
a mummy in my team and so, we wrapped him in toi-
let paper, our team won by a landslide.

On October 30th, my school celebrated
Halloween Fun Day. There were storms, floods, covid-
19 pandemic and lots of people passed away so our
school couldn’t celebrate a grand fun day for Hallow-
een. Everyone were so sorry to hear that lots of people
were no long away with us because the flood brought
them away.
This Halloween, I dressed up as Donald Trump, the
45th president of the US. The election is still going on
in the US with 4 candidates and I want to support
Trump.
—Thao
Due to the flood that hit us this year, our school decided to
set the Halloween party in the morning, October 30th. Be-
cause they wanted to save money to donate for the people
that lost their house because the flood destroyed them.
When I heard about it I was surprised, this is my first time
I heard Halloween party in celebrated in the morning. Hal-
loween in the morning won’t be as fun as celebrating it at
night. My favorite activity in Halloween is Haunted
House, where we will decorate a room using scary stuff to
make it scary. Then some people will dress up as scary
ghosts and hide somewhere in the room so that when peo-
ple walk in, they’ll get scared by them. But unfortunately,
there won’t be a Haunted House activity this year’s Hal-
loween because it’s in the morning, people can see every-
thing when they walk in the room which makes it boring.
We started Halloween by showing off our costume, people
will walk around in front of us so we can see their cos-
tumes. But I didn’t care as much about it, I dressed up as a
vampire. Then there’s many other activities but I didn’t but
I didn’t participate because its boring. The next activity is
probably the best one in this year. We separated into 5
teams, each team have 4 people and we started off in my
homeroom. Each team will be given a question and the
answer will lead them to the next room. Where you’ll be
given another question, this repeats for about 7 rooms.
Everyone finished after about an hour and my team got
third place. This activity made this year’s Halloween so
much better, even though we celebrated Halloween in the
morning .
—Andrew
I still remember the one night when I was going
downstairs to take a piss and I saw a rat standing on
the stair. I waved my hand lightly as if the rat could
understand me than it ran away. After I’m done, I
went upstairs and when I turned back to check the
lights, the same rat were there again. My mind says
I should go up and sleep, I did so and the rat is never
to be seen again.
