 Kandawgyi lake is one of the two major lakes in Yangon.
 Kandawgyi Lake is once known as Royal Lake, created in 1882-3 to provide a clean water supply
to the city.
 The design was developed and constructed by a British Army engineer (Lt. Alexander Fraser).
 The lake is artificial; water from Inya Lake is channeled through a series of pipes to Kandawgyi
Lake.
 It was created to provide a clean water supply to the city.

government employee.
He rarely comes to the park
for relaxation.
He suggested that the park
needs to be clean.
He said it’s easy to come to
the park and has no worries
of traffic.
A company employee Ko
Khaing Myal Aung comes to the
park by bus.He always wants to
come to the park whenever he
has free times He said it’s
pleasant to stay under the
shady trees and relax. He
suggested that the park needs
tourists attractions like skate
ground.
A foreigner from Germany said
it’s really pleasant to come to
Kandawgyi, which he’s been
heard of from the guide. He was
amazed that the park was well
maintained, but a little bit upset
about the old, unsafe bridges.
He also suggested that it’d be
nice to have bbq stands and
free wifi in the park.

The stage in the main auditorium floats on a fiberglass pad that deadens
potentially disruptive vibrations from transferring to the theater below.
This feat of sculptural
engineering serves as a
meeting house and is part
of the cultural, social, and
spiritual core of MIT’s
campus.

• a ‘must see’ venue for current
and future generations
