- Hi I’m Joshua Wies, CEO of Agewell Biometrics and I’m thrilled to announce the launch of our product Equilibrium – a data analytics platform offering quantified health insights for the 30 million plus older adults in the US. Equilibrium embodies Agewell’s mission with a simple score we call the EQ – Equilibrium Quotient. EQ represents vitality, health and well-being for older adults.
- As a physical therapist for the past 25 years I’ve seen the devastating effects of falls on older adults, their families and even on my own family. One in three people over 65 fall every year leading to personal suffering and a huge liability for care providers. The sad thing is that half of these are avoidable. Once a fall has happened, there is a cascade of events leading from the home to the hospital to the nursing home.
- Equilibrium is the solution. During my time living in England, I developed Equilibrium with the engineers at Cambridge University and validated the technology in human trials. Now I’ve moved Agewell to the United States to bring Equilibrium to the 35 million older adults at risk of falling.
- For years, the market has offered inadequate solutions, identifying fallers after the fact with cumbersome and expensive systems that older adults don’t want.
- Wiith the Equilibrium platform, sensor data from readily available wearables and mobile devices is analyzed by our cloud-based proprietary algorithms and care providers get reports and recommendations for effective and timely intervention along with a user friendly EQ score.
