The students learned about the basics of dubbing from Danny "Ama" Mandia, including how to create characters using their voices and the differences between dubbing anime and real people. 1. VoiceWorx students 22 learn about
dubbing
On the fourth session of VoiceWorx, the participants learned about the basics of dubbing under
the one and only Danny “Ama” Mandia, the director behind a number of notable Tagalized
cartoons like Peter Pan, Secret Garden, and Remi.
The said session was composed of two parts: the lecture and the hands-on dubbing exercises.
For the lecture part, Mr. Mandia gave an introduction on dubbing. He also taught them how to
create different characters using their voices as well as the difference between dubbing for
anime and dubbing for real people.

2. Afterwards, these students had a chance to experience how to dub. They were asked to dub a
scene taken from a certain Japanese animated series.
