Sometimes you must
further analyze an
experience in order to
derive the most value.
Spend a few minutes
writing your reflection to
the following prompts.
WHAT DID I LEARN MOST ABOUT MYSELF?
Did the exercise show that you have characteristic ways of relating to others that are distinctive, or similar, to those of others?
Did the exercise show that in a particular type of situation you act in a particular way or that when other act in a particular
way you typically feel happy, anxious, or angry?
WHAT DID I LEARN ABOUT SOMEONE ELSE?
Did you see something new about a teammate (i.e. she seems capable of feeling more deeply than I imagined, or she becomes
inattentive when things are stressful.)
WHEN I THINK ABOUT WHAT I DID DURING THE EXERCISE,WERE THERE OTHER OPTIONS FOR ACTION ON
MY PART THAT:

  • 3. QUIET FIVE: OBSTACLE COURSE Experience alone may or may not be educative. Sometimes you must further analyze an experience in order to derive the most value. Spend a few minutes writing your reflection to the following prompts. WHAT DID I LEARN MOST ABOUT MYSELF? Did the exercise show that you have characteristic ways of relating to others that are distinctive, or similar, to those of others? Did the exercise show that in a particular type of situation you act in a particular way or that when other act in a particular way you typically feel happy, anxious, or angry? WHAT DID I LEARN ABOUT SOMEONE ELSE? Did you see something new about a teammate (i.e. she seems capable of feeling more deeply than I imagined, or she becomes inattentive when things are stressful.) WHEN I THINK ABOUT WHAT I DID DURING THE EXERCISE,WERE THERE OTHER OPTIONS FOR ACTION ON MY PART THAT: (a) I did not see at the time? (b) I saw but chose not to pursue at the time? What were the consequences for (a) myself, and (b) for others for what I chose to do?

Constructivist Listening Dyads 1.Each person is given equal time to talk. 2.The listener does not interpret, paraphrase, analyze, give advice or break in with a person story. 3.Confidentiality is maintained. 4.The talker does not criticize or complain about a listener or mutual colleagues during their time to talk. BASIC BELIEF OF CONSTRUCTIVIST LISTENING I agree to listen to and think about you for a fixed period of time in exchange for you doing the same for me. I keep in my mind that my listening is for your benefit so I do not ask questions for my information. Quiet Five Reflection Prompts: 1. How often do you stop hearing what someone else is saying, filling in the information and formulating a response while they are still talking? 2. What could you do today to improve your listening? 3.
