6. What is a Sentence ?
A sentence is a set of words that is complete in
itself, typically containing a subject and
predicate, conveying a statement, question,
exclamation, or command,and consisting of a
main clause and sometimes one or more
subordinate clauses.
7. There are four types of
sentences
• Assertive or Declarative
sentence
• Interrogative Sentences
• Imperative Sentence
• Exclamatory Sentence

Imperative sentences issue
commands or requests or they can
express a desire or wish.
Eg: Get out of the class
Open the door
11. 4.Exclamatory
Sentences
Exclamatory sentences express
sudden feelings or emotions.
Exclamatory sentences always end
in an exclamation mark.
Eg:This is the best day of my life!
